Visit and care of people with ALS in Tucuman

Yesterday, our local representative Mercedes, accompanied by Adela, visited Humberto –aged 69- in the city of San Miguel. We are committed to protect his rights and support his treatment. Humberto was diagnosed with ALS two years ago and is at a state of social vulnerability. His wife is his selfless and devoted caregiver. He is currently presenting the paperwork for his retirement and has the disability certificate of the province. The family urgently needs to speed up the paperwork presented at their state social insurance, due to delays with medication delivery and other unfulfillments such as failure to provide a physiatrist at home or nursing service.

Dario Ryba, President & CEO of Asociacion ELA Argentina is in charge of planning and execute the actions developed by the institution in 2016. During these days, he is focused on ideas to lead those actions for the ALS community in the country. His top priority is to position Argentina and facilitate the access to advanced clinical trials in the world for people living with ALS, as well as challenge the severe ignorance and apathy to delve into contents shown by health providers that treat ALS patients in our country.
